New products meet with enthusiasm at EMAF in Porto
At stand G416 in pavilion GAL4, VSM presented the latest highlights from its range of abrasives and had suitable solutions at the ready for all types of application.
ACTIROX’s aggressive grinding action surprises visitors
ACTIROX, a product predestined for rough grinding tasks, was demonstrated as a fibre disc in the grinding cabin and soon became a public attraction at its Portuguese debut. "Our angle grinder fitted with ACTIROX AF890 attracted a large number of visitors. They were surprised to see just how powerful ACTIROX is and how much stock it removes in the shortest time", says Sergi Pitarch, Director of VSM’s Spanish subsidiary VSM · VITEX ABRASIVOS. With its newly developed geometrically shaped ceramic grain, ACTIROX achieves twice the stock removal rate of traditional ceramic-grain abrasives when grinding alloyed steels, stainless steels and carbon steels.
VSM COMPACTGRAIN, which is ideal for intermediate and finish grinding, was presented on various belts (including VSM XK789X and VSM XK786X). This long-term abrasive is optimised for surface grinding and is valued for its uniform surface quality with a very even scratch pattern and consistent stock removal. This ensures a sustainable increase in productivity and service life.
Impressive surface quality in the grinding robot
VSM ILUMERON RK700X was also exhibited for the first time in Portugal, in the form of an abrasive belt with polyester backing. This new long-term abrasive is perfect for fine finish grinding when it comes to plates, sheet metal and tubes, and offers a whole new surface quality standard. The very high gloss finishes achieved by ILUMERON were available for inspection at EMAF, where bottle openers were being finished, live, in the grinding robot. "The tangible and visible finishing quality made a big impression on the visitors", says Sergi Pitarch.
EMAF takes place every two years and welcomes more than 40,000 visitors, making it one of the largest trade fairs for tools, machinery and metal working in Europe.
