VSM continues to invest at headquarters
"Hanover is our company’s location. Although it is true that we are represented across the globe with subsidiaries and joint ventures, we will continue to rely on Hainholz as our central location, where not only our offices, research and development are at home but also our production", these are the words of Bernhard von Heyl, CEO of VSM AG. According to him, this necessitates investing into an improved infrastructure.
The new shipping warehouse is to be constructed in an area where an unused multi-storey production building presently stands. With some 1000 square metres, the new building will have a floor area twice the size of that of the old building. Its height of approximately 20 metres will be in line with that of the surrounding houses. The inside of the building will feature the latest technology. Consignments will be compiled on the ground floor. A fully automatic robot will then pick them up from the high-bay store above.
It is essential for VSM AG to consider the needs of the nearby residents for this project. In order to ensure that the building blends harmoniously into its surrounding, it will have some windows fitted, even though there will be no people working in the high-bay area.
Construction of the project is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2016.
