File belt
A file belt is a narrow abrasive belt for belt grinders with a small belt width. File belts are used when precise work is called for - e.g. on edges, contours, inside radii or weld seams. Or even in hard-to-reach places.
How does the use of a file belt affect service life, stock removal and surface?
- Stock removal: targeted and controlled
- Service life: depending on grain type and pressure
- Surface: easily controllable, even with difficult geometries
Typical problems when using file belts:
- Belt running problems
- Choosing the wrong backing material
What needs to be kept in mind when using file belts?
- Low, even contact pressure
- Suitable grit size depending on the work step
- High-quality cloth backing material for greater stability
