VSM XELERION nominated for German Sustainability Award 2025: Innovative grinding technology sets new standards in resource conservation

A great honour for Vereinigte Schmirgel- und Maschinen-Fabriken AG (VSM) from Hanover: the new XELERION fine abrasive is nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2025 in the “Resources” category. The award recognises particularly sustainable innovations - and XELERION clearly demonstrates how modern grinding technology can not only be more efficient, but also significantly more resource-efficient.

What makes XELERION so special?

XELERION is a structured fine abrasive with a unique arrangement of dots. These so-called dots consist of several layers of sharp abrasive grains and are intentionally arranged randomly on the backing. This ensures even wear, fewer temperature peaks, and a flawless scratch pattern.

The result: Less rework, less material waste, and a significant reduction in heat input into the workpiece - of up to 70 percent!

XELERION excels not only in matters of sustainability, but also in regard to efficiency. Thanks to its ideal stock removal behaviour, grinding processes can be significantly simplified. Grit stages can be skipped – saving time, energy and material.
