oSa

The oSa (Organisation for the Safety of Abrasives) is an international association of grinding tool manufacturers. Their goal is to increase safety in the use of abrasives. Products bearing the oSa mark meet defined safety requirements and are regularly tested.

High speeds, centrifugal forces and mechanical loads act on the abrasive during grinding. Serious accidents can occur if a grinding tool fails.

The oSa ensures that abrasives:

• are designed for safety
• hold up to defined loads
• have clear specification on maximum speed and application

For users, this means more safety in the daily grinding process - especially with hand-held and rotating power tools.

oSa certification is no substitute for PPE, but it complements it as an important part of a holistic safety concept for grinding.
